Accessibility Statement
PickOk is for anyone who wants to meet someone in person. Here is where we stand, honestly, including what still needs work.
Our target
We aim to meet Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.2 at level AA across pickok.live and the PickOk mobile app, and to follow the platform accessibility guidance from Apple and Google. This statement is reviewed whenever we ship a significant change.
What is in place today
Accessibility work already shipped:
- Text and interface colours meet or exceed AA contrast against their backgrounds.
- Body text is never smaller than 12.5px on the web or 12pt equivalent in the app, and respects your system text size.
- Every tap target in the app is at least 44 by 44 points.
- Screens work with VoiceOver and TalkBack, and images carry meaningful labels.
- Nothing critical is communicated by colour alone; counts and states carry text or icons.
- The core detection flow needs no precise gestures, no timing, and no dragging.
Known gaps
We would rather list these than pretend they do not exist. The map view is inherently visual, and while venue counts are available to screen readers as a list, spatial browsing of the map is not yet fully equivalent. Some animated elements do not yet respond to a reduced-motion preference. Full keyboard operation of the website is complete, but focus styling on a few secondary controls is weaker than we would like.
These are on the roadmap rather than parked. If one of them blocks you today, tell us and we will prioritise it.
Tell us what is broken
Write to [email protected] with "Accessibility" in the subject. Describe what you were trying to do, the device and assistive technology you were using, and what happened. We acknowledge within two working days and will offer an alternative way to complete the task while we fix the underlying issue.
We can also provide any information on this site in an alternative format — large print, plain text or read aloud over the phone — on request and at no cost.
