THE RULES

Community Guidelines

PickOk puts you in the same room as a stranger. These are the rules that keep that experience worth having. Break them and you lose your account.

01

One honest photo of your own face

Your photo is the only thing another person sees before deciding whether to look up. It must be a recent, clear picture of you, taken by you or with permission, with your face visible. No group shots where we cannot tell who you are, no sunglasses covering your whole face, no photos of other people, no pictures of children, no nudity, no logos, no phone numbers or handles.

02

Be a real adult

Eighteen and over, using your real age and a current photo of yourself. No impersonation, no fictional personas, no accounts for a business or a brand.

03

Approach like a person

PickOk exists to make an in-person hello possible. It does not make it welcome. If someone is not interested, that is the end of it — no second approach, no following them to another venue, no waiting outside.

  • Read the room. Someone working, waiting for a train, or clearly with someone else is not an opportunity.
  • Take a first no as a final no.
  • Never touch someone you have just met without an obvious invitation.
  • Do not point out that an app told you they were there, then keep pressing when they seem uncomfortable.
04

Never use PickOk against someone

Using PickOk to find, track, monitor, wait for or corner a specific person is the most serious breach possible. So is photographing or filming another user, sharing their photo, or posting anything about them anywhere. Any of these results in immediate and permanent removal, and we will cooperate with law enforcement where the law requires it.

05

Keep it non-commercial

No promotion, no selling, no recruiting, no fundraising, no inviting people to another platform. PickOk is not a marketing channel.

06

What happens when a rule is broken

Reports go to a human. Depending on severity we may remove a photo, restrict detection, suspend an account pending review, or permanently ban a person and the device behind them. Anything involving threats, sexual coercion, or a minor is escalated immediately and can be reported to the authorities.

If you think we got it wrong, write to [email protected] and a person will look again. Tell us the date, the venue and what happened; we hold very little data, so specifics matter.
